Should You Wax Or Should You Shave

This is a question you may have posed yourself.  Perhaps you have never been waxed and are wondering what it is like.  Or maybe you have waxed but are thinking, do I really need to wax?  Whatever the case, here at Total Body Wax we can help you make a decision.

Shaving - Whether you are new to body hair removal or have been doing it for a while, shaving is an option.  You can do it in the privacy of your own home, no need to make an appointment.  A good razor, shaving cream, and you are set to go.  But then there are those parts you have difficulty reaching.  In a few days, the hair is growing back and the stubble becomes irritating and you find yourself doing it again.  It is a repeating process.  If you are lucky there will be no ingrown hairs, but seeing as shaving cuts the hair off at or just below the skin, there is always the risk of a nasty ingrown hair with infection.

Waxing - For first-timers, waxing can be a little intimidating.  There are so many stories out there about painful experiences.  There are even videos of people in agony as they get waxed for the first time.  Thankfully you can rest assured the majority of the videos are exaggerated and fake and meant to further intimidate the first-timer.  A professionally trained waxologist will never cause you the pain these videos purport to show.  All Total Body Wax waxologists are licensed estheticians.  There may be a slight stinging sensation, and if you have a low tolerance for pain, a Tylenol 20 or 30 minutes before your session will help.

For those who have taken advantage of waxing in the past, whether on a regular basis or periodically, you may or may not have noticed the advantages of waxing over shaving.  As mentioned, shaving produces stubble, must be performed frequently to maintain the appearance you desire and can produce ingrown hairs.  Waxing and particularly waxing on a regular basis will leave you looking and feeling good for longer periods.  After your first waxing, there may be a few hairs that grow in quickly but these hairs were those hidden below the surface of the skin at the time of your waxing.  With continued waxing, the hair will grow in a regular cycle and will be thinner and more sparse.

We encourage regular waxing and Total Body Wax tries to make it easy by offering waxing packages that are discounted.  Remember, whether you are a first-timer or a regular waxer, your waxologist can answer any question you may have regarding your skincare concerns.
